Pringles
We did not shoot a snack. We shot engineered crunch: the one curve no other chip has, snapping into flavor.
Creative direction
Pringles is the only chip with a name for its shape: the hyperbolic paraboloid, the saddle curve. That geometry, not Mr. P, not the tube, is the brand's truest logo. But geometry alone is cold. Every great food ad wins on a visceral money shot, the chocolate cracking, the milk splashing, so the saddle curve here is not a museum object, it is a flavor engine. The chip flexes under pressure, the ridge fractures with a sharp crack, and it erupts into golden shards, salt, and paprika dust that still trace the curve in the air. The geometry breaks along its own architecture. Engineered crunch: respect and appetite in one shot. That fusion is what separated the final from the first, too-cerebral draft.
8 shots, directed
inside the red Pringles tube, the golden stacked column like architecture, brand clear in 1 second
the lid pops, a single chip lifts out and rises into a warm void, seasoning drifting
the chip flexes under invisible pressure, seasoning trembling on the ridge, sound tightens
macro on the ridge and the Mr. P mark, gold rim, the surface about to fracture
MONEY SHOT: the ridge fractures with a sharp crack, explodes into golden shards, salt, paprika dust, all tracing the saddle curve in the air
shards and dust swirl, the saddle curve held in the air, the geometry surviving the destruction
the fragments resolve back into one pristine hero chip, the perfect curve restored
the red tube behind, a perfect stack rising, one hero chip floating forward. ENGINEERED TO CRUNCH
The full director prompt
Total: 15s / 8 shots / 9:16. Cinematic Pringles snack hero ad, SPEC.
refs @image1 = single chip hero still, @image2 = the red tube with Mr. P mark, @image3 = the stack composition.
style Concept: engineered crunch. Architecture fused with visceral crunch, the saddle curve is a flavor engine, geometry creates appetite.
environment Warm near-black void #1A1714, infinite, the iconic red tube and the golden stack as the only objects, salt and paprika-gold seasoning dust suspended.
lighting Single warm 4200K key from upper left, thin gold rim on the ridge, high contrast near-black falloff.
camera Open inside the tube, build pressure on a suspended chip, the crack as the climax, end locked-off on tube plus stack plus hero chip. Hero 85mm, macro 100mm, paper-thin depth of field, faint warm grain.
audio Warm electronic build, the seasoning trembling, the sound tightening into a sharp crack (the climax), debris settling, the tube pop as the end stinger, SFX matching every action and transition.

Where taste decided it
The first concept, shot the math, was elegant but cold: it earned respect but no appetite, while every reference ad we studied won on a visceral money shot. Pringles is dry, so the fix was to make the crunch the substance: the chip fractures along its own geometry and erupts into shards and seasoning dust. Geometry now creates appetite instead of replacing it. That is the difference between a clever AI ad and one a brand would actually run.
What this episode taught
- 01Geometry creates appetite. A smart concept that earns respect but no craving is half an ad. The fix was not to drop the idea, it was to make the idea bodily.
- 02The visceral money shot is non-negotiable in a product ad. Find the brand's true substance: for Pringles it is not melt or pour, it is the crunch.
- 03Study references before locking a concept. The first version was made blind; five competitor ads exposed the missing visceral beat in one pass.
